Hello everyone and welcome to our first newsletter of 2021.
First of all we would like to wish residents, hirers and users of the Centre a happy and prosperous New Year with the hope that we can all look forward to an improving situation with the pandemic. Perhaps towards Easter time we may see a return of many of our leisure activities in the Centre. Of course, we are having to operate in accordance with government legislation, so our aim will be to keep you updated as frequently as possible of the situation. We do have a few regular hiring dates available, subject to Tier restrictions, so if anyone is interested in starting a new activity please contact us on 07895386433.
As readers of our regular newsletter will be aware, the Trustees continue to look for fundraising initiatives to support our efforts to expand the Community Centre facilities. We have some way to go to finance building the west end annexe and every donation, however small can help.
Many Chellaston residents use the services of Amazon to purchase both household and personal goods/gifts and the CCA has teamed up with Amazon Smile campaign. We have a unique charity link enabling supporters to select our organisation on smile.amazon.co.uk with just one click prior to you purchasing goods.
Shopping on AmazonSmile at https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ch/1173163-0 will allow Amazon to donate to Chellaston Community Association, at no cost to you. We would appreciate any assistance you can give us.
Regarding hiring the Centre we are still not in a position where we can accept one off private hire bookings and only can apologise for this. As soon as the restrictions allow, we will be aiming to open the Centre for these occasions and will be highlighting this through our social media streams.
Finally, why not start the New Year off by putting something back into your community. We continue to look for help and support in overseeing a range of tasks within our Association, in particular continuing our role in ensuring the livelihood of the Community Centre. Our premises need ongoing local support in many ways and just an hour of your time per week could make a significant contribution. Please contact us either via e mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 07895386433.
As our motto says we should be “working together to keep our Community alive”
