Hello and welcome to our September newsletter.
We hope that you have enjoyed your summer holidays and now perhaps you are looking forward to the children returning to school. Last month saw some work carried out at the Centre to make daylight improvement thanks to a Biffa Award. This went smoothly and we hope hirers and users will benefit from the changes made. We also took the opportunity to reorganise some of our storage areas so that we can make our furniture more accessible for hirers to use.
A number of our regular hirers are returning after the summer break to provide activities and so for ease we have listed them.
Playdays Opportunity Group runs daily sessions during school terms for pre-school children.
A Brownie group operate early Monday evening and we understand the team are actively trying to re-instate the early evening Tuesday sessions.
Yoga on a Monday evening.
Otago gentle exercise on a Tuesday afternoon.
TKD and Astral Martial Arts sessions operate on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and a Sunday morning.
Zumba is on a Tuesday evening.
Ballet class one to one sessions on a Wednesday evening.
Two AA group meetings on Thursday lunchtime and Sunday evening.
From October we will see the return in the afternoon of the Monday Club for the winter, ideal for some gentle indoor sports for “Seniors” as well as Baby signing classes in the morning.
We would like to advise you that the Well Child Health Clinic will be transferring to the Community Centre this month with weekly sessions on a Thursday between 1.30 and 3pm. A warm welcome to the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust team to our premises and facilities.
The Centre continues to be a popular venue at weekends for individual hirers, especially for children’s parties. We make the facilities available all day on a Saturday as well as Sunday afternoons. We continue to advise residents to book early to avoid disappointment.
Finally just a further reminder that our AGM will be held on Saturday 13th October 2018 @ 10.30 in the Centre. Just an hour of your time is requested to support our organisation, complimentary refreshments provided.
