Hello and welcome to our February newsletter.
We continue to develop our detailed planning of the lobby toilet refurbishment project which will take place during the Easter school holidays and unfortunately this will impact on both our regular and individual hirers with the closure of the main hall over this 2 week period. The work will see the modernisation of both male and female toilets in the main lobby area. In addition the grant funding contributions from Veolia Trust and Co-op will now allow the Trustees to upgrade the children’s toilet, formerly a disabled toilet. We would like to apologise to our hirers and users for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.
Last month the Centre was once again very busy with bookings every weekend for individual parties and events. The opportunity to utilise the hall for themed birthday parties for children incorporating some soft play seems to be very popular at the moment. Our website www.chellastonca.org displays a diary where you can view availability along with pictures of our premises. Our facebook page has also plenty of photographs along with news items www.facebook.com/chellaston-community-association, please like so that you can keep in touch with our news. You can also call Joyce our bookings secretary if you have an initial enquiry or any questions on 07895386433.
We have mentioned previously about our longer term aim of extending the building which would ensure more centre hire availability especially during the daytime. We currently have space limitations at the Centre as most of the building is used on a daily basis for the thriving pre-school children’s activity operated by the Playdays Opportunity Group. We believe that increasing centre hire capacity via an extension in the form of a multi-purpose suite would enable the Association to give consideration to operating a regular Community run café along with ensuring other organisations and groups have the opportunity to hire the facilities for a range of existing and new activities.
In order to pursue our aims further we are looking for a local commercial architect to assist us in developing our plans and move to the next stage of being in a position to showcase building designs to residents prior to going forward for planning permission. If you are able to assist in anyway in supporting the Association with this project please get in touch either by calling 07891954892 or dropping an e mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
