Hello and welcome to our May newsletter.
We are pleased to report that we now have some sparkling new toilets at the Centre following the two week refurbishment programme which took place over the Easter period. Our thanks go out to Veolia Environmental Trust for providing a significant grant contribution towards the overall project cost and to our contractor Flush Washrooms for finishing on schedule. This much needed improvement we are sure will be welcomed by our regular groups and individual hirers of the Centre and should also contribute towards the environmental initiatives we are introducing within the premises.
Planning continues for the Spirit of Chellaston event to be held on Saturday 16th June on the adjacent recreation ground when the Centre will be providing its facilities for event visitors. The CCA will be serving refreshments all day with profits made being used for our ongoing Centre modernisation programme. If you can assist in any way on the day or baking a cake please get in touch either by calling 07895386433 or via our website enquiries@chellastonca.org, we are always in need of willing volunteers.
We still have a few weekend dates available in the diary for individual hirers who perhaps want to celebrate a child’s birthday or indeed a family party and make use of the secure garden area. Our website www.chellastonca.org displays a diary along with details of our facilities and how to make an enquiry. If you not quite into this technology you can contact us on 07895386433.
We have a new activity taking place each Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm until 3.15pm in the main hall ideally suited for pre-school children. Mucky Tots will be operating the sessions and if you are interested contact details can be found on their facebook page.
Finally we are very sad to report the death of Colin Eaton who in the 1990’s and 2000’s was part of our Committee and also held roles as Secretary and latterly Chairman. Our condolences go out to Colin’s wife Rose and family at this difficult time.
