Hello and welcome to our newsletter.
This month we have a very important date in the calendar, Saturday 13th October, when we will hold our Annual General Meeting at the Community Centre at 10.30am.
As a charity the Trustees manage the Community Centre for the benefit of Chellaston and the surrounding area residents. Through our constitution Chellaston residents over the age of 18 are automatically members of the Association and it is important that these members have a say regarding the operation of this facility. We continue to welcome residents to join our team either as a volunteer or indeed as a Trustee and look forward to seeing a good turnout on the 13th at 10.30am to ensure that we have sufficient numbers to undertake the AGM. Complimentary refreshments will be provided and we envisage the meeting taking no more than 1 hour of your time.
Our newly refurbished 24 square metre west end room, with a separate entrance, toilet and kitchen is up and running and provides a facility for meetings, small group activities and one off events. This facility may provide organisations, looking for space to carry out an activity either within the daytime or evening, with a suitable low cost venue to hire in a central Chellaston location. If you would like more details please give us a call on 07895386433 or enquiries@chellastonca.org.
We also now have a small number of weekday times for the hire of the main hall. Mondays after 19.30, Wednesdays 16.00 – 17.45, Fridays 15.30 onwards so please get in touch if you are considering an activity suitable for the main hall.
Our weekend diary through until the end of the year is filling up fast so if you are looking for somewhere to hold an event, possibly a children’s party, then have a look at our diary on www.chellastonca.org for availability.
Finally two new groups have started at the Centre. Relax Kids on a Tuesday after school offering children 5 to 11 years old with fun and imaginative relaxation and yoga in the main hall.
Cartoon Heroes support group are operating on a Friday from 4pm in the large meeting room. 1st week of the month – Sign, Rhyme and Makaton Time. 2nd week – Coffee Evenings. 3rd week – Training for members such as first aid and promotion of other local charities. For contact details check the diary on our website. Next month will see the Sign Stars academy on a Monday morning in our large meeting room.
