Welcome to our newsletter
We hope that you have enjoyed your summer holidays and now perhaps looking forward to the children returning to school this month. Over the holiday period we have managed to carry out a range of Centre maintenance activities as well the installation of our replacement external storage unit.
A number of our hirers are returning after the summer break and we now have 24 regular weekly activities at the Community Centre across all age ranges. A new after school drama club for 4 -11 year olds will be starting on Monday 9th September in the large meeting room. Operated by the Lauren Nicole Drama Club (LNDC) it promises to be fun, accessible and a great way to meet new friends. Lauren is a professional actress and clown based in Derby. She has performed and taught drama all over the UK and even in Italy! She does a lot of work already in communities and is looking to do more. Contact details are displayed on our website diary.
The Centre continues to be a popular venue at weekends for individual hirers, especially for children’s parties. We make the facilities available all day on a Saturday as well as Sunday afternoons. We advise residents to book early to avoid disappointment. You can either go on line to check the diary www.chellastonca.org/chellaston-community-centre-diary or give us a call on 07895386433.
Finally, we would like to let you know that our AGM will be held on Saturday 12th October 2018 @ 10.30 in the Centre. Just an hour of your time is requested to support our organisation, complimentary refreshments provided. As a registered charity we need a sufficient number of residents to be in attendance to ensure we can hold the meeting. It is also a good opportunity to have a look around the Centre as well see the plans we are displaying regarding our future building extension. Of course, you are most welcome to join our team whether as an elected Trustee, which occurs at the meeting, or indeed as a volunteer.
