Hello Everyone
Where is the time going, now into October and the start of longer nights and turning the heating on and upwards.
The Centre is now in full flow with a range of hirer activities for all age ranges, visit our diary on the website to view what’s on. We have a kick boxing session recently started on an early Friday evening which is proving to be very popular.
We had the opportunity last month to address the never-ending maintenance tasks and will take the opportunity during the October half term to reseal the main hall floor.
Hire for private events is now starting to increase although we have decided for the time being to limit numbers to 40 persons during these uncertain times with the pandemic. If you are planning a celebration, say a children’s or family party, please visit our website www.chellastonca.org/hiring-a-room/
A report on the AGM held on Saturday 2nd October will feature in the November 2021 issue due to printing deadlines for the Chellaston Choice magazine, although the Trustees were looking forward to presenting a healthy report on the status of the Centre.
The West End annexe project is continuing with the main task being to finalise the design and undertake a competitive tendering exercise to establish the building cost. We are also including some green initiatives within the design criteria which may assist with attracting the necessary funds from grant providers.
The Chellaston Community Garden partnership has been formed by the CCA and CRA organisations and we continue to work on raising funds to create the garden in 2022. A crowdfunding appeal has been started with a target of £3000 towards this project and we are hoping Chellaston residents will support this appeal. Please visit Crowdfunder.co.uk/chellaston-community-garden-1 and watch the clip. If you can make a small contribution to this worthy Chellaston project, then this would be very much appreciated by the team.
Finally, we continue to look for residents to join our team to ensure the ongoing success of the Centre. These are exciting times especially with the forward projects we have identified which will benefit Chellaston and the surrounding neighbourhood. If you want to get involved in your community, please contact us on 07895386433 or enquiries@chellastonca.org.
